Established in 2019, RIVHAB Engineering & Earthworks specializes in waterways, hydraulic engineering, fish and wildlife habitat improvement, site/civil grading, stormwater management, floodplain design, plant and riparian ecology, fisheries engineering, public recreation and public access, and instream construction projects. Based in Eagle, Idaho, our clientele is expanding, especially in the federal market with our 8(a) status. We partner with states and federal agencies, tribes, local communities, private landowners, non-profits, major consultant firms and Contractors to deliver high-quality water resources engineering design, permitting, and construction. We offer full engineering capabilities and in-house heavy-civil construction (licensed and bonded up to $5M) to self-perform Design/Build solutions or provide stand-alone services. Our work focuses on practical, buildable solutions that restore and reconnect aquatic ecosystems throughout the Pacific Northwest.Position Overview
RIVHAB is seeking a Construction Manager to manage civil and water resources construction projects located throughout Idaho and Eastern Oregon. This role is responsible for project execution, financial performance, client relationships, and overall project success for all phases of construction, from preconstruction services to closeout. Key Responsibilities
The Construction Manager will be tasked with managing small to mid-size projects, in varying stages of completion, with minimal oversight from the Construction Division Lead.
Develop and manage the scope, schedule, and budget of the project, including ensuring the schedule is coordinated with existing project backlog and manpower availability.
Support preconstruction activities including construction estimating and bid preparation.
Requisition of supplies, materials, and equipment to complete all phases of construction.
Obtain all necessary permits with all applicable regulatory agencies to ensure proper compliance prior to project mobilization.
Monitor contract performance and resolve field issues in collaboration with project teams.
Participate in field reviews, project meetings, and stakeholder coordination efforts. Maintain client relationships with excellent communication and ability to solve problems.
Provide Project Closeout Documents as required to facilitate substantial completion.
Track projects throughout the warranty period and provide proper Final closeout documentation upon completion.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide constructability reviews and coordinate with design engineers to incorporate constructability into final design.
Fill in for Project Superintendents as necessary to direct and supervise construction team.
Assist in preparation of Project Invoices, including reviewing subcontractor work, quantities, and pay applications for accuracy and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
Minimum 6 - 10 years of experience with heavy civil projects managing all aspects from design, approvals, procurement, construction, and implementation.
Strong communication, listening, and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple projects at various stages of development
Experience with Survey Equipment and survey data processing
Experience with Bluebeam, Procore and other project management software
Experience leading preconstruction efforts, including estimating, bid preparation, and subcontractor coordination.
Ability and willingness to travel out of town for up to 2 weeks at a time.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Civil3D
Heavy Machinery Operating Experience
Previous Experience working in river environments
